I bought 4 abandoned houses — and I'm exploring every one of them with you, room by room, attic by attic. An old horse cart, century-old relics, a room that still waits for its owners… Which house is the best? You decide!
The first house hides deep in the forest — small, cozy, painted in colors I loved at first sight. The door barely opens, and inside there's far more than I expected: stained-glass doors, a plate with a mysterious maker's mark, coins on the table, a stove door with a horseman and horses. Open drawers everywhere — did looters get here first? Then the shed stops me in my tracks: an old horse cart with every wheel intact, the kind film studios, restorers and museums buy!
The second house is the one I truly fell in love with: birches and lindens, boarded-up windows, a door wide open. A handwoven basket, a grandpa's boot studded with nails, a keg that looks 200 years old. I climb into the attic with no harness (please don't repeat this!) and find strange wooden mechanisms, an animal jawbone, a tiny skeleton with a skull and an old champagne-style bottle. A simple house — with a historical treasure inside.
The third house is so overgrown I can barely reach the door. Red polka-dot jars, old enamelware, and a fully furnished room where the tablecloth and vase are still in place. Family photos, a glass fish, a silver cone I can't identify, a chest and an old bathhouse.
The fourth, a little cottage in the woods, is turned upside down — yet full of beauty: a military tie, a very old icon, bamboo paintings, scattered buttons, colored pencils and a great barrel in the ruined shed.
