Push To Reject - Chimera Beast (1993 Jaleco, unreleased)

Of course this was going to happen, why would I not look for any excuse to talk about Chimera Beast? A game that was doomed from the start because it's such an aggressively ugly game, in terms of character design and overall presentation. Sadly, I get that. But look past the surface and you'll find a unique shmup in which you get to watch your horrible Eater mutate in different ways. And I love the progression through the different stages of the planet, culminating in an unforgettable conclusion. This game might not have stood a chance at getting released, but I'm glad it was dumped and preserved because I find it fascinating.
