Why do so many golfers struggle to compress their wedges and control their distance? In this lesson clip with one of my online students, I explain the importance of keeping the chest rotating through impact to allow the arms and hips to extend correctly. When the chest stops moving, the arms can become trapped, the body can stall, and the club can be delivered with too much loft. This has a direct influence on how efficiently you strike the ball, the speed it comes off the clubface, and the trajectory you produce. The key is learning to keep the chest moving so the arms and body can work together through impact. In this video, we break down how this movement influences delivered loft and why understanding this relationship is essential for better wedge play. If you want to hit your wedges with more consistent contact, control your trajectory, and improve your distance control, pay close attention to what your chest is doing through impact. Remember, great wedge play isn’t just about how hard you swing. It’s about how efficiently you deliver the club to the ball. Want to understand the movements that create a more efficient downswing?
