From Deer Hunting to Shore Diving – A Wild Day in Kaikōura What started as a mission to chase deer quickly turned into a classic Kiwi backup plan – diving for a feed! After an unsuccessful morning hunt, I headed to the stunning coastline of Kaikōura with local legend Spencer and his younger brother for an epic shore diving session. We managed to gather some of the ocean’s best: fresh kina (sea urchin) and a beautiful crayfish. To wrap up the day, I throw together a simple but delicious catch and cook to share the flavours of the day.
