I Bought a House in Rural Oregon. I Found a List of Rules Under the Floorboards.

🏚️🌲 “The house in rural Oregon was supposed to be a fresh start… until I found the rules hidden beneath the floorboards.” 🌲🏚️ I bought an old house in rural Oregon, miles from the nearest town, surrounded by silent woods and long-abandoned farmland. It needed repairs—warped planks, creaking beams, a crawlspace that smelled of damp earth and age. That’s where I found it: a sealed envelope tucked beneath the floorboards, containing a handwritten list of rules left by the previous owner. Rules about which doors must stay locked after sunset, why you never answer knocks from the back porch, and what to do if footsteps circle the house without leaving tracks. At first, they seemed like the superstitions of someone who’d lived alone too long. But as nights pass and the property begins to feel occupied in ways it shouldn’t, the rules stop sounding paranoid—and start sounding like survival instructions. This chilling story blends rural isolation horror, haunted house creepypasta, rule-based supernatural terror, and backwoods psychological dread into a slow-burning nightmare. Perfect for fans of Pacific Northwest horror, abandoned farmhouse stories, woods paranoia, and atmospheric home invasion horror, this tale reveals a terrifying truth: some houses don’t stay empty… they wait for new owners.
