Sigmund Freud smoked 20 cigars a day. Ivan Pavlov made dogs drool at the sound of a bell alone. Two eccentric scientists, two radically different worldviews—and both lead straight to the core question: why do human beings do what they do? Train your B2–C1 English listening with the history of modern psychology while mastering the exact grammar native speakers use to speculate, hypothesize, and debate human behavior. 📥 FREE WORKOUT PDF & LESSON NOTES: 👉 https://your-english-reps.kit.com/2df... 🔥 WORKOUT MISSION: Break the internal translation loop, catch rapid native reductions, and instinctively deploy modals of deduction to formulate articulate hypotheses in real time. ⏱️ CHAPTERS: 0:00 Cold Open: Two Bizarre Psychology Facts 1:33 Meet the Hosts & Today's Mystery 3:10 Structuralism: The Chemistry Set 6:55 Behaviorism: Pavlov's Dogs 11:43 Psychoanalysis: Freud's Iceberg 15:29 Neuroscience: The Chemical Cocktail 19:23 The Jung Quote & Closing Wisdom 21:02 Bonus: The Selfish Gene Theory 🏋️ HOW TO TRAIN (The 4-Rep System) True fluency is built through repetition, not one-time passive listening. For maximum consolidation of vocabulary, connected speech, and cadence, run this workout across the week: 1️⃣ Rep 1: The Warm-Up — Listen clean at 1.0x with zero pausing. Train pure auditory processing, grasp the big picture, and connect the dots of the conversation before you speak. 2️⃣ Rep 2: The Deep Rep — Follow along with subtitles to check key vocabulary, break down the grammar, and refine your grasp of the topic—all while humming the speech melody to lock in rhythm, stress, and target patterns. 3️⃣ Rep 3: The Shadow Rep — Turn the volume down and speak along with the audio. Ride right on top of their voices, or stay a split-second behind—just keep their pace and rhythm. 4️⃣ Rep 4: The Consolidation Set — Listen without looking at the screen. Pause between speaking repetitions, aiming for 3–5 minutes of active reps with 30-second rests until you finish the set. 🧠 TODAY’S KEY REPS (POWER VOCABULARY): • Conditioning (n.) – The process of training a behavioral response through repetitive environmental stimuli. • Reinforcement (n.) – A consequence that strengthens or increases the likelihood of a specific behavior. • Unconscious (adj./n.) – Underlying cognitive processes and drives that occur outside conscious awareness. • Altruism (n.) – The disinterested and selfless concern for the well-being of others. • Empathy (n.) – The psychological capacity to understand and vicariously experience another’s emotional state. • Modals of Deduction (Tool) – Using must, might, could, can't to infer logical conclusions based on available evidence. Bridge the final gap. Do your reps. #EnglishFluency #AdvancedEnglish #B2English #C1English #IELTSPreparation
