I Made A $1200 Popeye Horror Short Film Using Seedance 2.5

We pulled her from the ocean... then the crew started to disappear. DEADRISE is a gritty, deep-sea maritime horror short film. When a weary sailing crew rescues a mysterious woman named Olivia from the dark waters, they soon realize the sea doesn't give back for free. 🎬 Behind the Scenes & Production: Created in just 5 days using Topview for the Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia (SSFF & ASIA 2026). The visual aesthetic and character archetypes were heavily inspired by the vintage, gritty nautical style of 1930s cartoons. Visually, this project was designed to push the Seedance 2.5 low-light rendering capabilities to their absolute breaking point, testing the engine's ability to handle dark, atmospheric tension.
