John 2:1-11 (No Wine!) #20

The story of the Lord Jesus creating 100 or even 160 gallons of high quality wine at a wedding in Cana is more than a simple story about His miraculous power. He miraculously filled stone containers that were meant for ritual washings according to the traditions of the Jews! This was a challenge to those rituals. Some at the wedding might have been offended. "Make your wine in some other containers!" This event serves to illustrate John 1:17, "the Law was given through Moses; grace and truth came into existence through Jesus Christ." Those attending would have to choose between being offended on account of their traditions, or rejoicing in the graceful gift of high quality wine!
