Goodyear welted shoes at Carmina Shoemaker's factory. The welt is stitched to the upper and the lining with the Goodyear stitching machine. The gap in the sole is then filled with cork. We will then cut into the sole to create a flap in which our artisans create the closed channel stitching. The sole is then stitched to the welt piercing all the layers to create a compact stitch. The stitch line is then encased by pressing the flap to create a closed stitch sole.
