Pull up on seismic profiles - a demonstration

Part of The Shear Zone Channel. Pull up is a common type of distortion on seismic images displayed in two-way-time, especially in salt provinces and thrust belts. This video looks at a simple (hypothetical) case for a thrust system: a sheet of rocks with seismic velocity higher than the material onto which it is carried. Seismic images in TWT can show apparent folds in the footwall (potential trap structures that aren't really there) which are artefacts of the TWT display - pull up.
