Inside 5543 Edlen Drive: The Story Behind a Thoughtfully Designed Old Preston Hollow Estate

Tucked behind a private gate in Old Preston Hollow, 5543 Edlen Drive is a study in thoughtful design, timeless architecture, and comfortable luxury. Designed by architect Lloyd Lumpkins and built by Randy Hughes, this exceptional estate was created with an intentional focus on privacy, livability, and connection to the outdoors. Lloyd sits down with Lori Decker Streiff of the Perry-Miller Streiff Group to share the story behind the home—and the vision that shaped every detail. The estate features a downstairs primary retreat, a chef’s kitchen beneath a dramatic two-story volume, a welcoming keeping room with a cast stone fireplace, and more than 2,000 square feet of covered outdoor living. Mature landscaping surrounds the property, creating a rare sense of privacy in the heart of Preston Hollow. More than a collection of impressive spaces, 5543 Edlen Drive reflects the intention behind every line, hallway, and room. An estate of privacy, pedigree, and comfortable livability—best understood through the eyes of the architect who imagined it. Presented by the Perry-Miller Streiff Group.
