One morning we were dodging pirates and meeting a local legend on Amelia Island. By evening, we were watching an alligator casually take over a bike path on the quiet, exclusive shores of Jekyll Island, Georgia.
This episode of Palm Trees to Icebergs follows us from a busy Sunday morning — church at Christ Walk Church, downtown Amelia Island, and a very memorable local character — to the slow, reflective pace of Jekyll Island, where old money history, a resident alligator, and a low-country shrimp boil made for one of our favorite days yet.
We close it all out at Driftwood Beach, one of the most photographed beaches on the East Coast — and it did not disappoint.
