BNCHA 50th Anniversary Celebration – Speeches

As part of Belgrave Neighbourhood Co-operative Housing Association’s **50th Anniversary celebrations on 25 September 2026**, we were delighted to welcome special guests, friends and members of the BNCHA community to mark five decades of our story. In this video, we hear from: Blase Lambert, Chief Executive of the Confederation of Co-operative Housing (CCH) Nic Bliss, from Stop Social Housing Stigma The Lord Mayor of Leicester, Cllr Kulwinder Singh Johal Their speeches reflect on BNCHA’s journey, the importance of tenant-led and co-operative housing, the strength of community and the people who have helped shape BNCHA over the past 50 years. For five decades, BNCHA has been about much more than bricks and mortar. It has been about people, belonging, neighbours looking out for one another and the belief that strong communities are built together. Our 50th Anniversary gave us the opportunity to celebrate where we came from, recognise the people making a difference today and look forward to the next chapter of BNCHA’s story. Most importantly, it was a celebration of the people who have made BNCHA what it is. 50 years of community, connection and doing it with love.
