After ranking third in 2024, Hitchin has now climbed to the number one spot ahead of second-placed St Albans and Hertford in third. Neighbouring Letchworth dropped out of the top 10 all together after coming in at eight last year. Luxury lifestyle site Muddy Stilettos asked its readers to vote for the best local village, town or city to call home in 2025, with voting taking place between August 11 and August 27.
