She inkstone, also known as Shezhou inkstone, originated in Shezhou between Huangshan, Tianmushan and Baijishan in Anhui Province. It was highly praised by many ancient calligraphers, and is one of the four most famous inkstones in China. This documentary shows the complex and complicated craftsmanship of She inkstone. The material should be moderately hard, lumpy and fine. It will then be profiled, designed and curved.
