SYNOPSIS There are moments when every other option seems exhausted and only one prayer remains: “Lord, make a way.” Zechariah 4 takes us to a people facing an overwhelming task. Israel had returned from exile, and Zerubbabel stood before the mountain of rubble where the temple had once been. Into that impossible situation came God’s word: “Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit.” This promise does not call us to become passive observers. God leads, directs and empowers, but He invites us to participate—to trust Him, roll up our sleeves and begin moving the stones in front of us. The first step may seem small, and progress may feel slow, but we must not despise the day of small beginnings. Whatever mountain stands before us, God is able to complete what He has begun.
