2024 Wesfarmers Harry Perkins Oration - Professor Richard Scolyer AO

Joint 2024 Australian of the Year, Professor Richard Scolyer AO, Co-Medical Director of Melanoma Institute Australia, delivered the 2024 Wesfarmers Harry Perkins Oration at the Heath Ledger Theatre in Perth on Wednesday, 6 November 2024. His talk was titled Battling Cancer: A Melanoma Researcher Becomes a Brain Cancer Patient. Prof Scolyer recounted his life's work researching Australia's National Cancer, melanoma, and talked candidly about his shock brain cancer diagnosis and how he and his colleagues have applied melanoma treatment protocols to beat his "incurable" IHD wild type glioblastoma.
