Artificial intelligence is rapidly reshaping research, teaching, and library services across higher education. This panel discussion brings together academic librarians from public and private TDL member institutions to share AI-related projects, lessons learned, and evolving perspectives on the role of AI and machine learning in research libraries. Panelists will discuss initiatives and strategies spanning workforce development, collections and infrastructure, AI literacy, ethics and values-based approaches, campus partnerships, and collaborative advocacy efforts. Through a moderated conversation, attendees will gain insight into how libraries are exploring opportunities, addressing challenges, and positioning themselves to support their institutions in an AI-enabled future. Presenters: Joshua Been, Director of Data & Digital Scholarship, Baylor University Carrie Johnston, Ph.D., Associate Dean, Research & Digital Strategy, and Megan Heuer, Director of Educational Initiatives, Southern Methodist University Alex Marden, Ph.D., GIS and Geospatial Data Coordinator, University of Texas at Austin Audrey Stewart, Assistant Director of Information Literacy and Instruction, Texas State University
