Jason Schroeder gives a high level overview of the last planner system as part of the continuing onboarding series, looking at it through two lenses: the schedule deliverables and the culture behind them. He walks through each tool in sequence, from the master schedule and phase pull plans, to the six week make ready look ahead, weekly work plans, and daily huddles, and explains how percent plan complete is tracked, with different targets depending on whether the system is built on CPM or Takt. He then reframes the system as a culture shift, one where foremen, the actual last planners, are genuinely listened to and collaborated with instead of directed through top down command and control leadership.
