The Hockey Song 🏒🍁 | Gotta Sing! Gotta Dance! | Shamilton Musical Theatre 2026 - Nadia's latest show

Get ready for some good old-fashioned Canadian hockey spirit! As part of the 2026 production of “Shamilton”, the talented young performers of Gotta Sing! Gotta Dance! take on one of Canada's most beloved hockey anthems, “The Hockey Song,” originally performed and written by Canadian music legend Stompin' Tom Connors. 🇨🇦🏒 And this performance comes with a particularly Canadian twist! Nadia was cast as one of the hilarious “ticket winners” in Shamilton, playing a fisherman from New Brunswick who also happens to have another job as a hockey coach. Naturally, that meant there was no way she could escape a performance of The Hockey Song! 😂🏒 🎭 ABOUT SHAMILTON Shamilton is an original comedic musical revue created and produced by Gotta Sing! Gotta Dance!, a long-running youth musical theatre summer camp program. Written by the camp’s artistic director Perry Ehrlich to celebrate the program's 25th anniversary, the play is a lighthearted parody and mini-history lesson that plays on the hype of Lin-Manuel Miranda's famous Broadway hit. We thank Perry and all the remaining crew who put together a wonderful show and also all the performers who practiced so hard for almost a month in August 2026. The story begins with a fictional Canadian television station called EH-B-C, which announces an exciting contest: the first ten people to call in will win FREE tickets to the smash Broadway musical Hamilton! There is only one tiny problem... The winners think they're heading to see Hamilton on Broadway. Instead, they've won a trip to... 🇨🇦 HAMILTON, ONTARIO! 😂 - or should we say HAMILTON, AMERICA (right, Mr. Trump, eh?) What follows is a wildly entertaining Canadian musical adventure featuring more than 30 songs from Broadway, movies, pop, rock, and Canadian music history. Rather than following the hip-hop-heavy musical style of Hamilton, Shamilton is a jukebox-style musical revue, bringing together songs from a huge variety of musical worlds, including: 🎭 Broadway & Movie Musicals • Hamilton • Waitress • A Star Is Born • Mary Poppins Returns • Candide 🎸 Pop & Rock Classics • Queen • Gloria Estefan • Sly and the Family Stone • And many more! 🍁 Canadian Music The production also features a hilarious “Canadian Carpool Karaoke” segment hosted by a parody of James Corden, bringing an extra dose of Canadian humour to the show. And, of course, there's hockey. 🏒 “The Hockey Song” is a perfect fit for Nadia's character, combining the comedy of the production with one of Canada's most recognizable musical traditions. 🌟 ABOUT GOTTA SING!
