Midweek micro adventure: Chorley to Dumfries & Galloway by bike Another midweek micro adventure, this time pointing the bikes north. I start in Chorley, roll through Preston, then head up to Dumfries and Galloway for a couple of days of riding, camping and exploring. Along the way: Kirkcudbright, the artists’ town on the Dee estuary Threave Castle, reached by a short boat trip across the River Dee Dundrennan Abbey, where Mary, Queen of Scots spent her last night on Scottish soil before crossing to England Bikepacking camp and the usual kit chaos If you’ve got a few days midweek and a bike, you don’t need to go far to feel like you’ve been away.
