In fact, it is not really that much faster compared to the 8 Bayshore. The northbound 8BX follows majority route of the 8, except that it skips San Bruno Ave after arriving Bayshore & Arleta, instead it goes up Bayshore and enters the freeway and then I-280, exiting at 6th St and a right turn back onto Bryant. This is a smarter option because the 101 is always jammed with bay bridge traffic. This ride was less crowded than I expected! All seats are filled before the freeway, but still there were not too many people standing on the bus. The traffic wasn't too bad either when exiting the freeway, and in Downtown areas.
