There's a moment right after someone says the thing designed to get a rise out of you, and what you do in those two seconds decides who is running the conversation for the next twenty minutes.
Most people fill it. They explain, they defend, they argue. Calm people do something else, and once you can see the seven things they do you can't unsee them.
FREE: The Two-Second Card
All seven, with the exact sentences, on two pages you can keep on your phone.

Number five is the one people write to me about. Knowing the move and being able to make it while your heart rate is already climbing are two different skills, and the second one is mostly a body problem, not a knowledge problem. That gap is what therapy is actually good at.
The one I'd point people to is Online-Therapy.com. It's structured CBT with a therapist and worksheets rather than open-ended talking, which suits this material.
Heads up: the link below is an affiliate link. If you sign up through it I'm paid a commission, and you pay exactly the same either way. I'd say the same thing about it if it paid nothing.

This channel is communication practice, not clinical advice. If most of this describes one particular person in your life rather than seven different situations, that's worth talking through with someone properly.
