In fact, it's more an 'interactive experience' than a typical video game. Much of the game's artistic choices and storytelling techniques are made to purposely make the player question if what they experienced was a true story or not. But when you delve into the life of its creator, Davey Wreden (creator of The Stanley Parable), The Beginner's Guide becomes much more than a simple story of a man narrating events in his life. The Beginner's Guide is a game about making games. It's a game about loss, and ego, and regret. But more than anything else, it's the story of the man who created it and his journey to learn the very reason he loves making games.
