Ten-year-old Indian karting talent Aarshi Gupta won the Mini Max category of the Rotax MAX Challenge and qualified for the 2026 Rotax MAX Grand Finals in Portugal. The fifth Asian Para Games opened in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, on 18 October, with Indian athletes Pramod Bhagat and Simran Sharma serving as flag bearers. Former Indian cricketer Pragyan Ojha was appointed chairman of the BCCI men's selection committee, while the 2026 Europhysics Prize recognised research on altermagnetism, an emerging area of magnetism with potential applications in spintronics and high-speed computing.
