The Detroit Lions’ former home, the Barton Malow-built Pontiac Silverdome, boasted a first-of-its-kind roof that was hailed as one of the great design and construction achievements of its time. The project was successfully completed on time and within budget, with more than 1,700 tons of structural steel and 52,000 cubic yards of concrete.
