THE FOUNDATION OF TRUE HEALTH IN THE SANCTUARY
What if the sanctuary is more than a place of worship? What if its design, compartments, furnishings, services, and principles contain profound lessons about the human body, health, and the way we are called to care for the life God has entrusted to us?
In this presentation, we explore the foundation of health as revealed through the sanctuary.
The sanctuary provides a powerful framework for understanding principles of health maintenance, the anatomy of the human body, and the functions that sustain life.
From the outer court to the Holy Place and the Most Holy Place, the sanctuary presents a symbolic journey that can be studied alongside different aspects of human life and bodily function.
We will examine how:
• The compartments of the sanctuary can be viewed symbolically in relation to the human body.
• The sanctuary furnishings illustrate important principles of life, cleansing, nourishment, service, and spiritual health.
• The functions of the human body reveal remarkable order, design, and interdependence.
• True health involves more than treating disease—it involves preserving and caring for the life God has given us.
• Physical health and spiritual responsibility are closely connected in the biblical understanding of the body.
THE BODY AS GOD'S TEMPLE
The Bible presents the human body as something sacred and entrusted to us by God:
“Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
1 Corinthians 3:16
Paul gives an even more direct application to the physical body:
“What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you… and ye are not your own?”
1 Corinthians 6:19
And therefore:
“For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.”
1 Corinthians 6:20
The principle extends beyond individual spirituality. Scripture calls us to recognize that our entire life belongs to God.
“Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.”
1 Corinthians 10:31
This raises an important question: If the sanctuary was to be kept holy, should we not also take seriously the care of the body that Scripture calls the temple of God?
The sanctuary points us toward a deeper understanding of holiness, order, cleansing, nourishment, service, and communion with God. When studied alongside human anatomy and physiology, it provides a fascinating framework for exploring the relationship between biblical principles and health.
“I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.”
Psalm 139:14
Join me as we explore THE FOUNDATION OF HEALTH IN THE SANCTUARY and discover how the sanctuary can help us understand our responsibility to care for the body, preserve health, and glorify God with our entire being.
“Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.”
3 John 1:2
