Sigrun Ravenshield - Tell Odin My Name (Official Music Video) | Viking Music

⚔ Tell Odin My Name by Sigrun Ravenshield: viking rap over war drums, with a warband shouting back in the chorus. ️ A song about a shieldmaiden who traded the spindle for a spear. Lyrics: Odin! Odin! Ravens on the wind! Odin! Odin! Let the saga begin! Born in the black when the sun wouldn't rise, with a storm for a cradle and ice in my eyes, they gave me a spindle, I was reaching for a spear, let the Norns spin the thread, I'm the one with the shears. Every night in the snow I was swinging till I bled, splinters in my knuckles, war drums in my head, I painted a raven, black on a field of red, every knot in my ink is a vow to the dead. When the dragon ships sailed, I was first at the oar, and they laughed at the girl, they don't laugh anymore. Allfather's got one eye, he should keep it on me, there's a wall of cold steel where the fog meets the sea. Lock the shields, lock the shields, feel the ground start to shake, one more breath, one more step, let the ravens awake! Fly, raven, fly! (Hey!) Tell Odin my name! (Sigrun!) If I fall in the snow, I won't fall in vain, fly, raven, fly! (Hey!) Tell Odin my na-a-ame! (Sigrun!) Odin! Odin! Odin! Ravens on the wind! (Sigrun!) Odin! Odin! Odin! Now the war begins! Shield to shield, wall to wall, and the sky splits Thor's swinging the hammer, every strike on our side, they told me to weave, so I weave through the steel and their giants are learning what it means to kneel. Then a blade split my brow and my left eye went black now I see like the Allfather, and he's staring back. The Valkyries circled, I waved them goodbye, spat the blood in the sand, put the raven up high, and the fear in my chest turned to fire and smoke, and I swung and I swung till the enemy broke, now the same men who laughed at the girl at the oar stand behind me in line, and they wait for my roar. Odin! Ravens on the wind Odin! Odin! Cattle die, kin will die, you will die the same, only one thing never dies, the echo of a name. Then I carved three runes where the tears used to fall, so the ravens know my face when the Allfather calls, let the fire take the flesh, let the sea take the bone, but the name that I earned will be carved into stone. Fly, raven, fly! Tell Odin my name! (Sigrun!) If I fall in the snow, I won't fall in vain, fly, raven, fly! (Hey!) Tell Odin my na-a-ame! (Sigrun!) Odin! Odin! Ravens on the wind! Sigrun! Sigrun!
