LIEBHERR Demo Show at bauma 2025

One of numerous attractions at Liebherr's exhibition area at bauma 2025 was the live demo of their earthmoving machines, which included a remotely controlled, 28 tonne - Liebherr R926 Generation 8 Excavator, a PR 726 Generation 8 Dozer and an autonomous Wheel Loader. The R926 Excavator and the hydrostatically driven PR 726 Dozer were both equipped with the LiReCon teleoperation system, that enables precise remote control of construction equipment from a safe distance. With the Autonomous Operations - System installed on the Wheel Loader, Liebherr has won the bauma 2025 - Innovations award for the category digitalization. The autonomous system, is at an advanced stage of development and allows completely driverless operation and is particularly suitable for monotonous routine tasks and operations in hazard zones. The autonomous system does not require GPS reception, which means it can also be used indoors or underground. The machine perceives its surroundings, piles and obstacles, using 3D environmental sensors, without having to use drones or separate surveying technology, and plans to work its cycles accordingly.
