Easy Way to Paint Hills at Golden Hour | A Mixed Media Process

In today’s video, I’m sharing the process of creating this whimsical, layered landscape. This piece combines the fluid transparency of watercolor with the sharp, shimmering detail of metallic gold pens and the soft highlights of white pencil. The painting features a series of rolling hills in a dreamlike palette of soft pinks, sage greens, and cool blues, all watched over by a bold, golden sun. I wanted to capture a sense of peace and rhythm through the repeating patterns of the stylized trees and the shimmering outlines.
