Dumaji Muzik Festival 2026 | Doomadgee, Queensland
Experience the 2026 Dumaji Muzik Festival, a celebration of First Nations music, culture, community and emerging Indigenous artists in Doomadgee, Gulf Country, Queensland, Australia.
Presented through the Dreamtime Music Project, the festival brought together local musicians, the DMC Boys, visiting artists, cultural dancers, young people and community members for a powerful week of live music, cultural storytelling, music workshops and creative collaboration.
More than just a music festival, Dumaji Muzik Festival is about building opportunities for young musicians, celebrating culture and strengthening community through music.
🎵 Music Workshops & Youth Development
Leading up to the festival, the Dreamtime Music Project worked alongside the DMC Boys and local young people through songwriting sessions, instrument lessons, band rehearsals, music production and live sound engineering workshops.
A highlight was a beatboxing and looping workshop with Tai, where young musicians developed original lyrics and started the creation of a new collaboration song.
The week also featured artist collaborations, cultural storytelling, creative development and music video production.
