Activations 7 seconds apart at Little Thetford (West River User-Worked) Level Crossing!

County: Cambridgeshire Date filmed: Saturday the 18th of January 2025 Video filmed at 13:31 Route: The Fen Line Between Waterbeach (WBC) and Ely (ELY) Stations Crossing type: User-Worked Crossing with Miniature Stop Lights (UWC-MSL) Filming location: Holt Fen, Little Thetford (CB6 3HB) A user-worked level crossing found at the edge of the village of Little Thetford just to the south of Ely, Cambridgeshire. Owing to its remote location about three quarters of a mile through the village from the nearest main road, it is an incredibly quiet spot with little other than flat, open fenland and a river across the crossing from the village. For active warnings, it has a relatively unusual combination of Unipart Rail 'Dorman' signals and 'Yodalarm' alarms, something that I feel makes it of interest. In 2021, a close-call was caught here with an impatient user. Gate-activated red lights aren't typically a thing, but in this video it may seem like they are! Just seven seconds after the lights turned to green after the first train had passed, they turned red again just as I started to open the gate to cross, so I was made to stay on the same side for both of these 'Airport' trains.
