Dilijan National Park, Armenia | A Beautiful Forest Hike

Hiking through the lush forests of Dilijan National Park, one of the greenest parts of Armenia. The dense forests, mountain scenery and misty atmosphere are a dramatic contrast to Armenia’s drier landscapes. There’s a reason it’s so green: Dilijan gets rain on about 121 days a year, meaning roughly 244 days are rain-free. May and June are especially wet, while August is one of the drier months. All that moisture means the trails can get very muddy and slippery, even when it isn’t actually raining. Good hiking shoes are definitely recommended. Our hike gave us a chance to experience a completely different side of Armenia—cool, green, forested and wild.
