Jantar Mantar Protest: CJP Leaders Detained | Nitin Nabin: CJP an ‘Anarchist Group’ | Gyanesh Kumar

Delhi’s Jantar Mantar protest has triggered a major political showdown after CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke, Ashutosh Ranka and Saurav Das were detained on arrival in the national capital. Dipke declared, “I was ready to be arrested, I am not afraid of anyone,” as CJP demanded their immediate and unconditional release. Arvind Kejriwal and Mahua Moitra criticised the detentions, comparing the situation to the Emergency, while CPI(M) claimed several senior leaders, including Pinarayi Vijayan, M.A. Baby and Brinda Karat, were also detained. Meanwhile, BJP president Nitin Nabin accused CJP of trying to destabilise the country. Why were the leaders detained, and what is behind the escalating political confrontation? Disclaimer: Copyright Disclaimer under section 107 of the Copyright Act of 1976, allowance is made for “fair use” for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, education and research.
