This video is a recording of a DVD featuring a compilation of adverts recorded from British television channels (including ITV1, Channel 4, five, and the children's programming blocks CITV & Milkshake) in the year 2006. These adverts are a big part of my childhood and I remember them fondly to this day. Here's the story:
I've always been obsessed with adverts from a young age, especially all the creative campaigns I've seen. My mother must have noticed this and so she made a DVD full of adverts that she recorded using the TV recorder. I was around 5 - 8 years old at the time the adverts were aired and the DVD was made, but since then I loved watching the adverts on the DVD all the time. So much so that I vividly remember and even memorised most of them; even as a teen and adult, watching these adverts brings back nostalgic memories. The DVD contains some of my favourite TV adverts of all time, and I even consider them great examples of marketing and advertising done right.
Now, almost 20 years after these adverts were first aired, I'm releasing the full DVD to the public, to preserve it for future generations. Whether you use this video to analyse what makes a good advert or simply as something to watch when you're bored, I hope you enjoy watching them as much as I did.
Unfortunately, the DVD did get a little scuffed at some point and, despite my best efforts, a small amount of data is unrecoverable. This affects only a few adverts which were unable to be included in this compilation. While this is a shame, the vast majority of the data on the DVD is readable, and I will upload the rest should I manage to successfully recover it in the future.
NOTES AND DISCLAIMERS
This video is intended for education, entertainment and media preservation purposes.
All adverts, brands, product designs, mascot designs, trademarks and copyrights are property of their respective owners. No copyright infringement is intended by their inclusion, and I do not claim ownership over anything shown in this video.
This video is presented as originally recorded from the DVD. Due to imprecise DVR recording, not all adverts are shown in their entirety, and elements of TV channel presentation (idents, trailers, etc) are present. This is a deliberate decision to preserve the original structure and experience of the DVD.
As these adverts are over 20 years old, products and services shown may no longer be available, companies and organisations shown may no longer exist, websites and phone numbers shown may no longer work, and offers and promotions are almost surely no longer applicable.
The appearance of any product, service, brand, company or organisation in this video does not indicate a personal endorsement of them.
These adverts are products of their time and may reflect the attitudes held at the time. The views and opinions expressed in this advert do not reflect those of the uploader.
