Toxteth Liverpool, St Clements Church Parade C1950, 1940s F1140

Some delightfully rare 16mm post war colour footage of Toxteth, Liverpool dated to the late 1940s, or possibly the early 1950s (the film can says 1956, but I doubt that...often film can dates are written much later from memory, so are a guide rather than a fact). There is a circular blast of light in some shots which is probably due to a lens hood reflecting sun light onto the lens at an odd angle. And the film maker is also a bit quick with shots in most places, so I have slowed things down a bit, so we can at least see how people really looked in this place 70-80 years ago. In an age when the past seems mutable, it is nice to see how Toxteth actually looked over 70 years ago. No credits appear within the film.
