Remembering Jamison Lee "Hula" Witherill | Memorial Paddle Out | Pacific Palisades Yesterday I had the honor of documenting the memorial paddle out celebrating the life of Jamison Lee "Hula" Witherill, held at Will Rogers State Beach in Pacific Palisades. Surrounded by family, lifelong friends, and members of the Southern California surfing community, dozens of surfers paddled into the Pacific Ocean to form the traditional circle of remembrance—a powerful tribute to a man whose life touched so many. From the shoreline and from above, it was evident how deeply Hula was loved and respected. The flowers, shared stories, cheers, and embraces created a heartfelt celebration of a life well lived. It was a privilege to preserve this special moment through aerial photography and videography. I hope this video serves as a lasting memory for everyone who knew and loved Hula, and for future generations who wish to understand the strong sense of community that defines Pacific Palisades and its surfing culture. My sincere condolences go out to Hula's family, friends, and everyone whose lives he impacted. May he rest in peace. Thank you for watching.
