Walking through Shiinamachi, a quiet neighborhood in Tokyo. Even in a city as familiar as Tokyo, there are still places I have never really seen. Shiinamachi is not a typical tourist destination. It is an ordinary neighborhood with small shops, old houses, narrow streets, bicycles, greenery, and the traces of everyday life. As I walk through the neighborhood, I sometimes find myself slowing down for something that catches my eye — an old shop, a quiet alley, a familiar-looking street, or a small detail that might otherwise go unnoticed. This is not a guide to Shiinamachi, but simply a walk through an unfamiliar side of Tokyo.
