TetraScience's CRO Connect automates the ingestion, quality review, and integration of externally sourced scientific data, cutting the manual review work that currently consumes biopharma R&D teams by a wide margin.
Large pharma organizations often work with more than 200 contract research organizations in a single year, and outsourced experiments can account for half or more of total R&D spend. Every CRO sends data differently, with its own governance rules and its own habitual mistakes baked into the files. Scientists end up spending thousands of hours a year checking that data before it can move downstream, work that pulls experienced scientists away from the science itself and slows down time to an Investigational New Drug (IND) application.

In this session, TetraScience product manager Kevin McCormick walks through CRO Connect on the Tetra OS. He covers how the product ingests CRO and CDMO data automatically, flags anomalies during quality review, and pushes approved data into downstream systems like an ELN or LIMS. The bulk of the session is a live demo of two tools: the CRO Onboarding Assistant, which lets a scientist configure a new CRO workstream in plain language rather than opening a data engineering project, and the CRO Data Review application scientists use day to day to accept, reject, or annotate incoming files.
What's covered:
Parsing Excel files, scanned PDFs, and mixed-format packages into a shared data model
OCR and document intelligence pulling structured data from handwritten notes and signatures
Validation rules written in plain language, and how flagged outliers surface for review
Automated email notifications sent back to the CRO when a file is accepted or rejected
Support for CDISC SEND packages and other GxP-regulated formats
Where the roadmap goes through 2027, from connected intelligence to full autonomy
