Gösta Björling & Erik Sædén - Au fond du temple saint

Gösta Björling (1912-1957) and Swedish bass-baritone Erik Sædén (1924-2009) sing the duet "Au fond du temple saint" from Bizet's opera Les Pêcheurs de Perles. This was originally recorded for the Swedish radio program "Operatimme" ("Opera Hour") on October 8, 1952 with Styg Rybrant conducting. This is one of Gösta Björling's finest recorded performances, with an explosive final B flat that could easily be mistaken for that of his older brother Jussi.
