The Forgotten British Cottage Hidden in Himachal

Exploring the historic Betty House in Barot Valley, Himachal Pradesh. In this vlog, we trek up to Betty House, a roughly 100-year-old cottage associated with Col. Betty, who served as the Chief Engineer of the Shanan Hydel Power Project. He lived here during the 1920s–1930s, and the cottage is still standing in the middle of the forest. The trek is around 1.5 km uphill and took us about an hour. The weather was really pleasant when we visited, and the entire route was surrounded by lush green trees with beautiful views of the valley. Since we went during the monsoon, the trail was wet and there were quite a few leeches along the way. So if you're planning to do this trek, definitely wear proper trekking shoes or boots.
