Can you climb past DJI's hardcoded 500m height limit on the DJI Avata 2 without FCC mods, software hacks, or custom firmware? In this video, I take my stock Avata 2 into the Alps to test a simple hardware workaround: landing on a high mountain slope to reset the takeoff altitude and keep climbing.
This was my first attempt trying this method in high-altitude mountain conditions. I walk through every challenge, signal loss scare, and doubt as they happen in real time.
If you fly the Avata 2 in mountainous terrain, let me know in the comments how you handle signal retention and altitude management!
