12 Classic TV Actresses Who Were DESTROYED by Drugs

Twelve women who were in millions of living rooms every week, and what happened to them once the cameras stopped. The most adored small child in America was dead five months after she came into her own money, at eighteen. A woman was using on the set of a family variety show that opened with a cornfield, lost the job to a drug arrest, and spent the next fifty years singing gospel. The most repeated catchphrase in the country belonged to a woman who was arrested at Heathrow Airport twenty years later and sent to prison in her own country. One was prescribed the thing that killed her by a doctor following the standard practice of the day. One used cocaine for four months, and only because she had been made to believe the show would fire her if she did not lose weight after having a baby. And seven of them got clean and built something else entirely, which is the half of the story that almost never gets told. One was fired from the same sitcom twice and now works as a substance abuse counsellor. One came out of a prison cell at twenty two and stayed sober for the next fifty five years. One rebuilt a whole career in a voice booth and has been in Pixar films your children have watched a hundred times without ever knowing it was her.
