Africa keeps taking the hit from global crises — but why? Is the African Union too weak to protect the continent, or is leadership the real problem? Kenyan lawyer and activist Patrick Loch Otieno Lumumba says the African Union needs a fundamental overhaul if Africa is to earn global respect and better serve its citizens. In an interview with DW’s Lucy Riley, he stressed that Pan-Africanism must move beyond slogans and translate into concrete action.
