Episode 10 starts early morning 🌅 from Slough, as we head straight to Buckingham Palace 👑 to witness the world-famous Changing of the Guard ceremony.
📍 At Victoria Memorial (opposite Buckingham), the atmosphere was electric — tourists everywhere, flags waving, and the anticipation building. Soon, the Royal Guards marched in, led by the Gurkha regiment from Nepal 🇳🇵, followed by the Irish Guards 🍀. Their precision, discipline, and grandeur gave goosebumps.
These “toy soldier-looking” men in red coats ❤️🖤 and tall black bearskin hats aren’t just for show — they are actual combat-trained soldiers, some of the most elite in the British Army ⚔️. Don’t be fooled by their calm expressions — they are dangerous professionals.
After the parade, my tummy reminded me it was time for food 😅. So I grabbed a ham sandwich 🥪 & hot coffee ☕ from a local store and enjoyed it at a nearby park 🌳, with sunshine & cool breeze — the perfect royal breakfast vibe.
Next stop was the Victoria & Albert Museum (V&A) 🏛️, one of the largest museums of art & design in the world. The Indian section here was overwhelming — but also heartbreaking 💔.
👉 Highlights inside V&A:
Maharaja Ranjit Singh’s Golden Throne 👑 – pure gold, lotus motifs, once a symbol of Punjab’s pride.
Tipu Sultan’s Armory ⚔️ – his swords, daggers, and personal weapons with gold inlay; powerful reminders of Mysore’s history.
Ivory carvings, sandalwood chests, and temple doors 🪵 – once part of India’s living culture, now locked in glass cases.
Mughal-era jewelry, carpets, & textiles 🧵 – priceless artistry, looted during colonial rule.
Vrindavani Vastra – silk fabric woven with Krishna’s life scenes, a true poetic masterpiece.
Kalighat paintings 🎨 – bold, expressive, and way ahead of their time.
Every artifact felt like a story stolen from India — a mix of pride in our heritage and anger at its plunder.
To lighten my mood, I strolled around London’s lively streets 🎭🎶. The city gifted me with:
Vibrant rickshaws with music systems 🚲🎶
A time-lapse shot of Big Ben 🕰️ & Parliament House 🏛️ under dreamy clouds
A colorful merry-go-round 🎠 surrounded by laughter
Street artists — a bagpiper 🎵, a man as Charlie Chaplin 🎩, another as the Mad Hatter 🎭
Two young girls dancing gracefully to the live singing of a street performer 🎤💃
The day ended not in a museum, but in the streets — full of life, colors, and rhythms that healed the heaviness of history.
✨ London showed me both its grandeur and its soul.
