The day kicks off with a trip down memory lane as I re-visit the Chumpon Ferry Port. This service operates a catamaran to the islands of Koh Tao, Koh Phangnan, and Koh Samui. Most people using the ferry will do so via Bangkok by either bus or train. The journey from Bangkok to Chumpon Fery Port takes around six hours. The journey to the islands takes about an hour to reach each island. The rest of the day forces me inland. I meet some amazing people on the way and get to experience some Thai generosity and kindness. Plus, I get to see the extent of Durian farming in the Chumpon area. For those of you that don't know, Durian has a spiky exterior and a soft fleshy fruit inside. It's known as 'The King of Fruit's and is renowned for its strong pungent smell and taste. In fact, it's so pungent that it's banned from just about every form of public transport and in virtually all hotel rooms. Seriously!
