2 Hours Of Rick And Morty Lore, But It’s The Disturbing Episodes

This video is a long, calm look at the darkest and most disturbing Rick and Morty episodes, taken in airing order with the production history behind each one. It traces the show's darkness back to Justin Roiland's 2006 short The Real Animated Adventures of Doc and Mharti, then follows the Adult Swim series from its 2013 premiere onward. Each episode comes with production details from interviews with Roiland and Dan Harmon and from Blu-ray commentary. Claims that only appear on the fan wiki are labeled as unconfirmed. What's covered in this video: How a cease and desist over House of Cosbys, a Channel 101 short, led Roiland to make a Back to the Future parody meant to provoke Universal's lawyers. Lawnmower Dog, where Snowball's dog uprising ends only after Rick poisons Morty, alongside a dream heist through Mr. Goldenfold's dreams with Scary Terry. Anatomy Park, where a theme park inside Ruben's body fails, Dr. Xenon Bloom is eaten by E. coli, and the corpse explodes over the Smith home at Christmas. Meeseeks and Destroy, including Roiland's note that the Mr. Jellybean scene should feel like a Jodie Foster movie, and the burned photographs in the post credits scene. What Adult Swim standards and practices actually changed, and how Mike Lazzo backed the premise of Raising Gazorpazorp. Rick Potion Number Nine, the Cronenberg world, and the one page Mazzy Star burial ending that Harmon called the birth of the show. Rixty Minutes, where Interdimensional Cable improvisation surrounds Summer learning she was unplanned and Morty's "Nobody exists on purpose" speech. Close Rick-counters of the Rick Kind, the Council of Ricks, Morty brainwave camouflage, and the twelve year arc of Evil Morty. A Rickle in Time, whose 64 split screen timelines crashed Toon Boom and took around fourteen hours to render. Auto Erotic Assimilation, Rick's breakup with Unity, and the garage suicide attempt set to a song by Chaos Chaos.
