Track 2 from Sjelen Jeg Fant Igjen (The Soul I Found Again)
What happens when you speak the truth you have received, but those around you refuse to hear it?
Inspired by the Gospel of Mary Magdalene, “Ordene Ble Avvist” explores the courage of a woman whose words are questioned, whose voice is challenged, and whose inner knowing remains unshaken.
Through haunting Norwegian vocals, traditional Nordic dark folk instrumentation, deep tribal drums, bowed strings, and cinematic Scandinavian atmosphere, this song moves beyond fear into quiet strength.
She does not fight to be believed.
She does not surrender what she knows.
Their rejection cannot erase what was given.
This is the second chapter of a 12-track musical journey through seven symbolic veils, inspired by the Gospel of Mary, exploring fear, rejection, remembrance, and the soul's return to wholeness.
ENGLISH TRANSLATION
THE SPOKEN REJECTED - Ordene Ble Avvist
I carried the words
until the hour came.
Then I stood before them
and gave them voice.
No trembling confession.
No lowered eyes.
I spoke what I had received
and let the silence answer.
They looked from me
to one another,
as though truth must arrive
from somewhere else.
One questioned the words.
Another questioned me.
But I had not come
to ask permission
for what I knew.
Why were you chosen?
Why should we believe?
Why would these words
be given to you?
Chorus
The words were spoken.
The words were rejected.
Still I stood
where I had spoken them.
You could turn away.
You could refuse to hear.
But I would not become smaller
to make your doubt feel true.
Verse II
I saw the door
closing in their faces.
Not a door of wood,
but one I could not open for them.
So I left it there.
Their doubt belonged to them.
The words belonged
to something deeper
than their belief in me.
Instrumental
Bridge — strongest emotional revelation
I will not wrestle
with a closed hand.
I will not beg
an unwilling heart.
What I received
does not need your permission.
What I remember
does not disappear
because you refuse
to remember with me.
Final Chorus
The words were spoken.
The words were rejected.
And still I stand.
You may question the voice.
You may turn from the words.
But what was given
remains given.
What was spoken
remains spoken.
And I will carry it
beyond this room.
Outro
Behind me,
their voices faded.
Before me...
the way remained.
