FlexRadio Aurora Unboxing & First Power-Up | Upgrading My Ham Radio Shack

A new FlexRadio Aurora has arrived in the AF0F shack! Okay, it arrived back in August, but this has just been sitting in the editing todo pile for a bit. Join me as I open the boxes, check out the included accessories, and swap out my Flex 8600 for the Aurora. Along the way, I back up my existing radio profiles, work through the connections, and power up the new radio for the first time. This is an unboxing and first-setup video, not a full performance review. If you’ve caught my recent livestreams, you’ve already seen the Aurora on the air. This video takes us back to its arrival in August 2026, and I’m looking forward to sharing more about what’s working well and what I’m still learning. Are you considering an Aurora, or have you already made the upgrade? Let me know how it’s going and what you’d like to see covered in a future video. If you enjoyed joining me in the shack, give the video a like and subscribe for more amateur radio projects, station updates, and operating. Have fun with your radio. Be kind. Stay curious. 73!
