Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj captured the fort in 1647 and developed it into one of the most important strongholds of Swarajya. Rajgad served as the capital of the Maratha Empire for around 26 years before the capital shifted to Raigad in 1674. Many important events in Maratha history took place at Rajgad. Chhatrapati Rajaram Maharaj was born here, and Saibai Maharaj passed away at the fort. Rajgad was also an important centre for planning military campaigns and administration. The fort's magnificent structure includes Padmavati Machi, Sanjivani Machi, Suvela Machi, the Balekilla, ancient water tanks, temples, bastions, and historic gateways. Suvela Machi is famous for the naturally formed rock opening known as Nedhe. ℹ️ More Information: • 🎟️ Entry Fee: No standard official entry fee is generally listed; local parking or village charges may apply. • 🥾 Trek Difficulty: Moderate to Difficult, depending on the route and weather conditions. • ⏱️ Trek Duration: Usually around 2.5 - 4 hours one way, depending on the route, fitness, weather, and breaks. • 🍲 Basic food may be available at the base villages or on the fort during busy periods, but carry sufficient water and snacks. 🔎 Your Queries Solved: Rajgad Fort Rajgad Fort Trek Rajgad Fort Monsoon Rajgad Fort Maharashtra Rajgad Fort History Rajgad Fort Vlog Rajgad Fort Latest Video Rajgad Fort Trek Guide Rajgad Fort Timings Rajgad Fort Entry Fee How to Reach Rajgad Fort Rajgad Fort Trek from Pune Rajgad Fort Trek from Gunjavane Rajgad Fort Pali Route Rajgad Balekilla Padmavati Machi Sanjivani Machi Suvela Machi Best Monsoon Trek Near Pune Maharashtra Forts Video Chapters 00:00 - Introduction to the "King of Forts" 01:03 - Location & How to Reach (Pune/Mumbai) 01:19 - Choosing the Route: Pali Darwaza vs. Chor Darwaza 01:46 - Parking & Base Village Facilities 02:01 - Beginning the Trek: Forest Trail & Safety 02:46 - The Steep Stone Steps (Rajgad's Natural Defense) 03:32 - Approaching the Grand Pali Darwaza 04:30 - Exploring Padmavati Machi & Rajsadar 05:12 - Grain Storage (Kothar) & Rani Vasa 05:55 - Rameshwar Temple & Maharani Saibai’s Samadhi 06:11 - Padmavati Temple & Water Tanks 06:46 - The Hidden Chor Darwaza 07:12 - Scaling the Challenging Balekilla (Highest Point) 08:18 - Ancient Water Tanks (Chandrakoar Tal) & Market Ruins 09:18 - Trekking to Sanjivani Machi: Double Fortification 10:13 - Alu Darwaza & Watchtower Views 11:55 - Heading Towards Suvela Machi 12:51 - The Famous Nedhe (Natural Hole in the Rock) 13:45 - Final Thoughts & Return Journey Timing ❤️ If you enjoyed this video, don't forget to Like, Share, Comment & Subscribe for more forts, waterfalls, temples, hidden places, and road trips across Maharashtra and India! #RajgadFort #MonsoonTrek #Maharashtra #ShivajiMaharaj #FortTrek
